Calling all amateur and professional photographers. Get your cameras, drones and smartphones ready and join us as we celebrate the wonders of a Georgian Bay Summer through the lens of your camera. We’ve got weekly assignment challenges that can earn you fine art print of your photo, some recognition and the feel good satisfaction of supporting our local community.
It all begins when you sign up for the My Georgian Bay Summer Photo Contest. The contest runs for an exciting nine weeks, from July 1, to September 1, 2023. It’s open to amateur and professional photographers of all ages and levels.
Here’s How it Works
Weekly assignments launch every Saturday to challenge your creativity. Submit your entries by midnight the following Friday. You can check our Facebook and Instagram feeds for the new assignment on Friday’s, but why risk missing a post.
Sign up as a My Georgian Bay Summer Photo Contest participant and we’ll send you the assignment sheet for the entire nine weeks. Then every Friday, we’ll send you a reminder of the weekly assignment challenge direct to your inbox. The weekly email also includes a link to enter.
Entry fees Go to Feed our Community
Share your work, and inspire others with your unique perspective. Your $5.00 fee per entry supports the Georgian Bay Food Network, which provides food security to those in need in Midland, Penetagnuishene, Tay and Tiny. Enter an image a week throughout the contest period or more than one image in any given week. The choice is yours.
A Chance to Shine
Every participant deserves a chance to shine. That's why each week, our panel of judges selects one outstanding entrant as the Photo of the Week to move forward to the finals as well as two honourable mentions. Your talent and vision could earn you some time in the spotlight on Instagram and Facebook.
Our Followers Vote their Favourite Photos Sep 9-15
Our followers and subscribers identify the winners by voting for their favourite photos. The three top-voted images will be announced Sep. 25, 2023. Check out the great prizes from our sponsor - the large format printing specialist The Gallery Printers. You'll find them in the Official Rules.
