Local, fresh and so good

Updated: Oct 6, 2021

The heart of Georgian Bay is brimming with locally-made artisan products and craft farms that grow incredible produce. Imagine, food fresh from the field, and oh-so-good. Here is how you can skip the farmer’s market and still experience the bounty of our farms, forests and the bay.

Dubeau Family Farm

Corner of County Road 6

and Concession 11 Rd. E., Perkinsfield

This family-run vegetable stand is a local favourite. Veg is fresh from the field. Look for Mrs. Dubeau's fresh-baked goods. We love the date squares!

Offers online ordering with curbside pick-up during Covid. Open May to early November.

Farm 2 Door

This online farmers market brings the best of local food and delivers it to your cottage door. Farm 2 Door carries 400 products from 80 producers, three-quarters of which come from Simcoe County, with the balance grown or made a little further afield in the province.

Farmers deliver products fresh from the farm to the food hub, just in time for your pick-up or delivery date.

Visiting the area? Order before you arrive. Select delivery to your cottage or pick-up at the store. Check online for details. In store shopping welcome Sunday through Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p. and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Note: selection vaires.

Lepage Fishery

Fresh from the bay to your BBQ. Lepage’s is the place to go for fresh-off-the-boat lake trout, pickerel and white fish. Buy fillets or a whole fish.

The smoked trout is amazing. Availability depends on the catch, so call in advance to see what’s available that day. Cash only. Open May to October.

Fosters Farms Roadside Stand

410 Balm Beach Rd E, Midland

Pick your own strawberries or get them by the quart at the roadside stand. You’ll also find seasonal vegetables, fruit and flowers fresh from the fields. We love stopping in to pick up the gladioli, when they’re in season.

Strawberry season runs mid-June to about the first

Patch of Blue

Tel: 705-427-3613

Berry season runs from mid-July to late August. Pick early in the day and enjoy blueberry shortcake for dessert that night. Patch of Blue is a five-star pick-your-own berry farm.
